About us
The Cosmic Vessel Project is a voluntary, community-driven expansion mod for Baldur’s Gate 3, created by a global team of passionate developers, artists, writers, composers, designers, and creatives from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels.
United by a shared love for storytelling, game development, and collaborative creation, we are building rich new content, immersive narratives, and fresh experiences within Faerûn for players to explore and enjoy.
For many of us, this project is also an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working within a structured development environment, learn collaborative pipelines, strengthen our portfolios, and grow our skills by learning from one another. From hobbyists taking their first steps into development to experienced industry professionals sharing their knowledge, Cosmic Vessel is built on creativity, collaboration, and a desire to keep improving together.
Above all else, we want this project to be something exciting, meaningful, and fun, both for the community experiencing it and for the team bringing it to life. While our immediate focus is delivering a memorable expansion for Baldur’s Gate 3, we also hope this journey helps open doors for future opportunities, original creations, and continued growth as developers and creatives.
What is the Cosmic Vessel Project?
The Cosmic Vessel Project is an upcoming fan-made expansion mod for Baldur's Gate 3 that aims to introduce a fully voiced Origin character, a brand-new playable class with four unique subclasses, original quests, new spells and abilities, custom equipment, new locations, companions, narrative content, and much more.
What makes Cosmic Vessel different is that these features are not being created as isolated additions. They are being designed to support a larger story and a unified player experience.
Many mods focus on adding new mechanics, items, or encounters. While Cosmic Vessel certainly includes those things, our goal is to go further by creating a narrative-driven adventure where gameplay, worldbuilding, progression, and storytelling all reinforce one another. New powers have origins. New equipment has history. New locations exist for a reason. Every major addition is intended to contribute to the wider themes, characters, and mysteries at the heart of the project.
As development continues, many details are still being explored and refined. Some features may evolve, and certain elements may find different places within the story as the narrative develops. However, our philosophy remains unchanged: every addition should feel purposeful, immersive, and naturally connected to the world around it.
We want Cosmic Vessel to feel like more than a collection of new content. We want it to feel like stepping into a new chapter of Baldur's Gate 3; one filled with discovery, mystery, meaningful choices, memorable characters, and a story that gives players a reason to keep exploring what lies beyond the next horizon.
